The House
Built in the 1880s. Restored for the way
you actually want to spend a weekend.
Sleeps the whole crew, sleeps them well.
Five bedrooms, seven beds, 2.5 baths — laid out so parents, grandparents, and college kids each get their own corner. No air mattresses required.
A full game room, not a folding table in the basement.
The whole lower level was rebuilt for game nights, late hangs, and rainy afternoons. It's the room your group will remember.
Five blocks from Benedictine College.
Walk to Mass, walk to move-in, walk to the game. Parents weekend, graduation, ordination — you're ten minutes from every campus moment.
Two living rooms means everyone fits.
One for the movie. One for the conversation. One front porch for the people who'd rather watch the street.
A wraparound porch and a private patio.
Morning coffee under the wisteria. Evening drinks on the deep blue sectional out back. Atchison's old neighborhoods are made for porch hours.

A short story
The house on the corner that everyone in Atchison knows.
Bricks & Chance sits on a quiet street five blocks from Benedictine College — a two-story red-brick Victorian with a white wraparound porch, original millwork, and the kind of front steps people stop to photograph.
Inside, the house has been carefully restored. Hardwood floors. Tall windows. A staircase that still creaks in all the right places. We added a full game room downstairs, a chef's-table dining room upstairs, and enough beds that nobody draws the short straw.
It's the kind of place where families come back twice a year — and where college parents start treating Atchison like a second hometown.

Who stays here
Built for the weekends that matter.
Benedictine families
Move-in, parents weekend, graduation, ordinations.
Walk five blocks to campus. Park once. Host the whole extended family in one house instead of three hotel rooms across town. We block off Benedictine weekends a year in advance — book early.
Multi-generation family reunions
Grandparents on the main floor. Cousins on the second.
Five bedrooms means no one's stuck on a pull-out. A full kitchen, two gathering rooms, and a dining table that seats the whole crew — so the reunion happens in the house, not at a restaurant.
Friend groups & bachelorette
A game room, a porch, and a town that knows how to host.
Atchison's downtown is a walkable strip of restaurants, distilleries, and live music — and Bricks & Chance is the kind of house your group will actually want to come back to every night.
Quiet getaways & remote work
Small enough to feel private. Big enough to spread out.
Fast Wi-Fi, multiple desk-friendly rooms, and a porch that turns into the best office in Kansas the second the weather warms. Midweek rates available when you book direct.

From the host
"We didn't restore this house to flip it.
We restored it because Atchison deserved it."
I'm Jonathan. I've been hosting on Airbnb for nine years, and Bricks & Chance is the one I'm proudest of. We bought a beautiful, tired Victorian on a corner lot, opened up the floor plan where it needed it, and left every piece of original woodwork right where the carpenters in the 1880s put it.
When you stay here, you're not staying in a rental. You're staying in a house that someone loves. If anything's off — the coffee's wrong, the heat's funny, you can't find the game closet — message me. I pick up.

Common questions
Answers, before you ask.
How close is the house to Benedictine College?
About five blocks. A ten-minute walk on flat sidewalks — easier than parking on campus during a big weekend.
Is it the same house on Airbnb and on the direct booking site?
Yes. Same house, same host, same standards. The direct site (Lodgify) just skips the Airbnb service fee, so your total is lower.
How many people can really sleep here comfortably?
Ten. Five private bedrooms with seven proper beds — no inflatables, no sleeper sofas counted in the math.
Can we host an event? A small wedding, a rehearsal dinner?
Small private gatherings for registered guests are welcome with prior approval. Larger events need a separate conversation — message Jonathan directly.
Is the house good for older guests or anyone with mobility limits?
There's one full bedroom on the main floor and a step-free entry off the back. The upstairs bedrooms are reached by the original staircase.
What's parking like?
Off-street parking on the property plus quiet, plentiful street parking. Most groups bring 2–3 cars without issue.
What's nearby to do in Atchison?
Walkable downtown, restaurants, distilleries, the Missouri River bluffs, Amelia Earhart history, and — five blocks away — Benedictine College.
What about pets?
The house is not currently pet-friendly. Service animals welcome per federal law — just let Jonathan know in advance.
